Neue Sterne School of Music is a secondary project of the Music Academy "Neue Sterne" in Hannover.

The main goal of the project is to offer serious music lessons for children who want to study a music instrument professionally.

 

The professional musical education lasts 10 years and finishes with an official diploma that offers the possibility to enter a higher music education institution. The professional music programme includes lessons in instrumental playing, music theory and music history, as well as a system of examinations and concerts. 

 

The general musical department for children aged 6 to 20, which is intended to provide a good general musical education, which lasts minimum 7 years and also includes knowledges of music theory and history. The general music department differs from the professional department in terms of the length of study, the number of hours, the examinations and the requirements for the child's initial music abbilities. 

 

A change from the general music department to the professional department is possible by examination.

 

The educational programme is available in German, English and Russian.

 

Admission to the Professional Department is only possible through an entrance examination.
